I started Holmes Custom Picture Framing in 1979 on a ranch in Newbury Park. I worked in a 30X40 garage. I did not have a storefront at that time so I did wholesale framing for interior designers and furniture showrooms. My neighbors found out that I did custom picture framing and they would bring the artwork to my house. I would place their artwork on my dining room table and show them different mat colors and frame samples until we had the best combination.> I opened my first store on Erringer Road. It was only 850 square feet, so I had to do the actual framing at the workshop at the ranch in Newbury Park. I purchased Nora's Art Gallery located on Valley Fair and soon closed my store on Erringer Road and moved the inventory to the new location. We were located at 2256 Tapo Street from January 1997 until we moved to 2389 Tapo street on February 21, 2005. I have added more services over the last few years. I have dedicated the gallery to show original artwork by local artists. I have also added equipment such as a large flatbed scanner, and other computer equipment. My main focus will remain what it has been since the beginning: to be the best custom picture framer that I can be, and to offer the best service to my clients. Come in and visit Holmes Custom Picture Framing. You'll find we really are the Custom Picture Framer's Picture Framer! | ||||||||
